(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masumi Minegishi) has funded a capital increase through 3rd-party allocation of newly issued shares by Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bangkok, Thailand; CEO: Yod Chinsupakul), operator of Thai dining and beauty review site Wongnai, through its investment subsidiary RSP Fund No. 5, LLC. In May 2013, Recruit capitalized Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. through investment subsidiary Recruit Strategic Partners Inc.
1. Goal of this investment
Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. plans to use this round of funding to expand its operations beyond its current locations in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and to bolster its management in the beauty field.
Through this investment, Recruit aims to acquire insights into the Thai restaurant and beauty fields, which it believes offers future growth prospects.
