Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. (Recruit, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President, Representative Director & CEO: Masumi Minegishi: Recruit) has undertaken a capital increase through a third-party share allocation for Blacklane GmbH (Headquarters: Berlin; CEO: Jens Wohltorf; Blacklane), the German company which provides the professional black car service "Blacklane" through its investment subsidiary RSP Fund No. 5, LLC.
1. Goal of this investment
Blacklane plans to use this funding to further expand its service by implementing additional development of its black car service "Blacklane" and strengthening its market position in Asia and specifically Japan. Through this investment, Recruit will consider the future business development to the transportation-related area.
2.Overview of Blacklane GmbH
Since the launch of its low-cost black car service "Blacklane" in June 2012, Blacklane has steadily expanded its service area with the support of many business trips and travelers, now counting 150 cities on a cumulative basis around the world. Blacklane's black car service and airport transfers at low-cost can be booked in advance through its website, smartphone apps or by phone, and also settled through a credit card.
